Currently, one of my favourite TV programs would have to be The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos on CBC. This national current affairs show puts a new spin on today’s news with its unconventional, new age approach. In the show, Stroumboulopoulos interviews a wide variety of media figures including politicians, famous musicians, Hollywood actors, authors, and prominent Canadian figures. I rarely catch The Hour during its regular broadcast, but the show’s website allows for viewing 24/7. There are also links to both the audio and video podcasts on the show’s site, which are nice for when I’m on the go. If you click on the links for either the video or audio podcasts, you will be directed to the iTunes store and will be able to receive your free subscription from there. The podcasts include segments from the show, and you can listen to interviews from City and Colour’s Dallas Green to Holmes on Home’s Mike Holmes to screen star Ryan Phillipe. I would recommend this podcast for any fans of the show, or for anyone interested in hearing the news with a new spin!! For any of you unfamiliar with the show, or any fans of Canadian singer/songwriter Hawksley Workman, here is a recent interview where he discusses his latest album, Between the Beautifuls.
I really wanted to watch the episode on Dallas Green, but I missed it. I’m glad I can watch it later when I have time.
I downloaded The Hour podcasts and I love them. It is also a little too late for me to watch so I love that I can listen to segments whenever it works out best for me. I also really like the spin he puts on his stories and the variety that the show offers.

AHHHH!! I Love George and The Hour! I think it is so amazing . I definetly agree with you on how you said he has this unconventional approach to the news. I didn’t even know that they had a podcast of the show so thanks! But if you want to watch the show on at an earlier time I watch it at 6 o’clock on channel 22.
You know, I’ve never watched the hour, but I’ve heard so much about it, and always wanted to. Maybe I’ll download some of those…
Thanks.
